Builders

There have some complaint about builders on City Island II being abusive towards female passer bys, to the point that they do not feel comfortable walking past without accompaniment. Whilst the builders are no doubt living up to their stereotype, this can be intimidating and is obviously unacceptable.

I have contacted the City Island II site manager and he has responded that:

· It is part of site induction concerning proper conduct for all contractors, and should not happen.
· He will bring it up at the subcontractors meeting this week to reiterate the point.
· If anyone is found to be abusive, they will be dismissed immediately.

If you feel any builders are not behaving how they should, then let us know, or simply approach the site office and demand to see Sean Brind, the site manager, and tell him who, where and what happened.

People have also asked why the builders need to be wandering around City Island II so often, and this is down to:

· Several City Island II operatives have rented flats in City Island I, some have been in residence for over 6 months.
· Maintenance of City Island I is carried out in some cases by the same builders.
